Curling Hair with Flat Iron
Flat iron is the oldest of curl irons. However there have been great changes in their designs especially on the materials used. We have three types of flat irons;
- Metal plated Flat Iron
- Ceramic flat iron
- Tourmaline ceramic flat iron
Making your choice
You have a wide array of flat irons to choose from depending on the material used such as above, or the color such as black, blue, green, purple, silver and pink. Also there are various brands to choose from
Using flat iron
Follow the following simple steps and get excellent results
- Clean your hair and make sure it is completely dry, you can also use blow dry
- Comb to disentangle your hair
- Select small sections to treat
- Place the selected section between the plates about half an inch close to your scalp, while maintaining a gentle pressure; draw the iron downwards to the tips of your hair.
- Repeat the above steps with each chosen section of your hair until the whole scalp is done.

It is important to note that, unlike using a curling iron, you aren’t wrapping your hair around the iron and curling up to your head. Instead, you clamp an inch section of your hair close to your scalp with the iron and turn the flat iron about one and half turns in the direction you want to turn. You then firmly hold the flat iron at this angle, and pull it through the length of the strand of the hair while maintaining the flat iron’s position.
